William has assisted his wife, Joan, and the company for years but became fully involved in 2018. He has an undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of Virginia and a J.D. and MBA from Northwestern. In his legal career, he has handled approximately 100 trials before judges, juries, and arbitrators, ranging from small individual matters to class and derivative actions with hundreds of millions and even billions of dollars at issue. He has also handled hundreds upon hundreds of deals and contracts. He has served as General Counsel and Chief Executive Officer for a venture-backed technology start-up and was elected and served for eight years as Trustee on the School Board for the School District of Greenville County. For the last two years, he has served on the Investigative Review Committee for the South Carolina Real Estate Commission.
