David is a Broker Associate with Joan Herlong & Associates Sotheby’s International Realty. For David in his previous career, being on the road 45 weeks of the year provides a person with several things: a job, an insight into almost every part of the lower 48 states, and an appreciation for having a job that doesn’t require 45 weeks of travel each year. This is how David came to join Joan Herlong & Associates Sotheby’s International Realty as a Broker Associate in 2021.
Vandeputte graduated from East Michigan University with his bachelor’s in business administration, and then earned his Master’s in Business Administration from University of Detroit. He worked for the famed IT company, Compuware, for seven years in Technical Sales Support. In this role, he assisted sales staff in building interest for various software products, and performed needs analysis and established objectives at prospective client accounts. He then opened Motor City Golf Shop, a retail golf shop that he owned and managed the business operations of for ten years. It was a career that would see him work in Palm Springs for a week, fly in clients for a weekend of golf and then travel to his next business designation on Monday. The work was work, but the golf was fun and that led him to the Upstate. He and his wife wanted to live in the Carolinas, and quickly found The Cliffs Communities. They fell in love with the region and bought a home within a month. It was during a golf event in 2010 that his career in real estate took the proverbial flight.
Between tee shots, he introduced a Cliffs real estate rep to a person looking to make a move. After that deal was made, the rep suggested that Vandeputte would be a natural in real estate so he joined Cliffs Realty. He spent four years with the company as a sales executive before joining Keller Williams Realty in Seneca as a Realtor. As an agent, Vandeputte prefers to be selective with his client base and provides plenty of white glove service that way. He’s driven to make sure the home listing and buying process is extraordinary. His goal is to serve sellers, buyers and investors who are considering the Lake Keowee area with honesty, integrity, and unwavering representation.
