Pickens County, South Carolina, features rolling hills to true
mountains; South Carolina’s highest point, Sassafras Mountain, is in
Pickens County, and Table Rock Mountain is famous for its distinctive
exposed rock. Pickens County features the Upstate’s two large mountain
lakes, Lake Keowee, and Lake Jocassee. Keowee is the much more
popular, and populated, of the two, while Jocassee features almost no
residential properties on its pristine shorelines.
