The City of Greer, South Carolina, is actually in both Greenville and Spartanburg Counties, but primarily in Greenville. The location of North America’s only BMW manufacturing facility and the beneficiary of the growth and international investment that followed, the community of Greer does a very nice job maintaining its original “small-town” identity. A suburb of both Greenville and Spartanburg, but with its own destination-worthy, highly-walkable downtown area, currently undergoing the final stages of an extensive rehabilitation. The Greer community features several of the region’s largest employers, notably the North American headquarters of Michelin Corporation in addition to BMW. Thornblade Country Club is a popular high-end neighborhood in this area, and the greater Greer area continues to see high levels of commercial investment, with TopGolf the latest mega-draw attraction to be constructed.
