Anthony Thompson was born in Concord, North Carolina, but grew up in the Greenville area. He developed an interest in the real estate industry at a young age by spending time with his father, a carpenter, on job sites. However, he did not initially pursue real estate. Thompson attended Furman University for his undergraduate degree and graduated in 2008 before going on to earn both his Master’s in Business Administration and his law degreefrom Emory University, graduating in 2014. He initially earned his realtors license in 2004, but retook the test when he moved back to Greenville in 2018 so that he could go into real estate after practicing law for four years.
Along with being a Realtor for Joan Herlong and Associates/Sotheby’s International Realty, Thompson is an attorney with Nelson Mullins. He is also the president of the West End Neighborhood Association and is on the board for Youth and Government program for the YMCA. In his limited free time, Thompson enjoys the restaurants and trails Greenville has to offer and travels anywhere he can, from Asia to Iceland to Mexico.
