Leadership

Our culture at Realogics Sotheby's International Realty is built upon breaking through the status quo to create new conversations for brokers within the markets it serves and fostering a progressive culture to cultivate change.

The Power of a Team

As one of the most respected and successful real estate firms in the Greenville, we take pride in our leadership team's commitment to integrity, professionalism and exceptional service. We are dedicated to ensuring that all team members and brokers share in our vision.

Joan has been selling residential real estate in Greenville since 1993. The youngest of their four children was a year old when Joan began selling real estate, always full time.
Her first 18 years in the business was with the largest realty company in Greenville, and she was their perennial top seller, outpacing many of their duos and “teams.”
After founding AugustaRoad.com Realty in December 2011 (in the depths of the Recession) she earned the rank of Greenville’s Number One Realtor in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and also YTD for 2017. That’s not just some slogan, it’s an unparalleled achievement, based on almost 25 years of experience, an instinctive ease with people, and sheer hard work. She has yet to find a substitute for hard work.
Her work ethic, and the “Clients First” company culture she created at AugustaRoad.com Realty for six years was the perfect fit with Sotheby’s International Realty.
The Client comes first, period. Joan specializes in helping busy professionals buy and sell residential property. She brings an unsurpassed level of professionalism to her work, and she’s focused on fostering the same skills and work ethic among all her agents, devoting a large measure of her time toward that goal. Respected by her peers, Joan has earned the reputation of being assertive, but fair.
Anyone can manage an easy sale, but when a deal throws curve balls, you definitely want Joan and/or one of her agents on your side. Joan “speaks” fine older homes, new construction, and newly renovated homes fluently. She lists and sells all over the Greater Greenville area.
Calling Greenville “home” since 1989, Joan and her husband William raised four children here, ages 25 to 33, and now they enjoy watching their first three grandchildren (and counting?) grow up in Greenville, too.
She enjoys tennis, and served several seasons as the captain of a 4.0 UPTA team at Greenville Country Club (GCC). Joan serves on the Membership Committee at GCC, and has sponsored more new members than any other club member in in the past five years.
They are members at Buncombe Street United Methodist Church. William is an attorney specializing in corporate and personal litigation with The Herlong Law Firm, LLC. He served two terms as trustee for District 24 on the Greenville County School Board from 1998 to 2006.
For over ten years, Joan has been a regular opinion/humor columnist in The Greenville Journal.
The best way to really get to know her unusual personality is to read her collection of columns.
She’s a graduate of the Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Greenville Class XXIII (1997), and served on Leadership Greenville’s Board of Regents. She has been a PTA president, and she has also served on the board for the Greenville Free Medical Clinic and for Artisphere, Greenville’s annual arts festival.
Born in Atlanta, and raised in Winnetka, Illinois, Joan graduated from The University of Virginia with a B.A. in English. She and William met in college. They have lived in Atlanta, Chicago, Charlotte, and Washington D.C. Since 1989 they have made their home and life in Greenville, and they love being part of this vibrant community! If you’ve read this far,
Joan wants you to know she appreciates your attentive tenacity and looks forward to helping you sell or buy in the Greater Greenville Area soon.

Jackson Herlong

Broker Manager

Jackson Herlong, "Greenville's Hometown Agent" and Broker-in-Charge for Joan Herlong & Associates Sotheby's International Realty, has been selling Greenville to and for buyers and sellers since 2013. Always a top producer, he’s an alum of several Greenville institutions: Augusta Circle elementary, Hughes Academy, Greenville High as well as Southside High School's International Baccalaureate (IB) program. Growing up in Greenville–while Greenville has grown up around him–affords Jackson a unique perspective.
Jackson graduated from Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg PA, then earned his B.A. in English from Davidson College in Davidson, NC, and his law degree at the University of South Carolina School of Law in Columbia, SC in 2013.
Jackson is a third-generation real estate professional; it's literally in his genes: his maternal grandmother retired from real estate when she was 83, his godmother/aunt is a Realtor in the Chicago area, and he’s been learning the business by osmosis from Joan his whole life.
His main passion is soccer, Jackson is the captain of the Augusta Road Arsenal, a team that won the “pro” division in Greenville’s adult soccer league several times in the past several years, but Jackson is never at a loss for words or suffering from a shortage of opinion on any given subject from the state of video gaming, the current NBA season, to 19th century Russian literature. Jackson spends most of his non-work time with his fiancée (getting married in October '17) and three dogs: Little Bit (mini dachshund), Black Betty (dachshund-lab mix) and Audrey (goldendoodle).

Grace Loveless

Director of Operations

Grace Loveless, Director of Operations, recently joined Joan Herlong & Associates Sotheby's International Realty after working for BMW of North America in their Franchise Development division. Grace has traveled all over the southeast, and the world, on behalf of BMW; working with their dealer network to ensure that BMW’s luxury clients are treated the same no matter where in the world they purchase. She brings that luxury clientele expertise to Joan Herlong & Associates Sotheby’s International Realty.
Grace grew up in Greenville, SC. She’s an alum of Blythe Elementary, League Middle, Greenville High, and Furman University. She and her husband moved away for a few years to Virginia and then Atlanta, but they’ve finally circled back after having their baby girl, Carson, in May of 2017. Grace is very happy to be back in Greenville after the hustle and bustle of Atlanta – Greenville has all the big city amenities you need, but the small town pace that is appealing when you have a new family. Not to mention, Grace and her husband both hail from the area, so they’ve got grandparents galore to spend time with their baby!
